Southern Star Pet Boarding offers a climate controlled, clean, friendly atmosphere for your pets. Our boarding facility opened in October 2010. It provides indoor/outdoor dog runs as well as totally indoor dog runs. We have 10 grassy outdoor play yards, as well as a covered area for when the weather isn’t ideal.
As of 3/14/2025, we are now equipped with a Generac Whole Home Generator! This is just one of many improvements that we have planned in order to provide the highest quality care for your pets possible!
As of March 2025, we have began construction on our play yard pavilions, which are built over a concrete slab. These will provide constant shade and weather protection, allowing your pets to enjoy more time outdoors!
As of July 2025, we will have completed the construction of 2 additional play yards in hopes of giving all dogs in boarding more time outdoors!
For our feline friends, we have a separate cattery with cat condos and a play room. We have recently constructed a “catio” which allows a safe and enclosed outdoor area for your cats to enjoy!
We allow you to bring your pets favorite bed, toys, bones, food, etc. to make them feel more at home during their stay.
Unless you bring your pets food from home, we feed purina dog chow at an additional charge of $2 per night. However, if this is not what you feed your dog at home we highly recommend bringing their food with them to avoid upsetting their stomach.

Your pets will be treated like our family while at Southern Star Pet. We like to think of their stay as a vacation for them while their owners are away!
All pets must have proof of current vaccinations given by a veterinarian on file prior to their arrival.
For dogs these include:
- Rabies (1 or 3 year REQUIRED)
- Parvo/Distemper (1 or 3 year REQUIRED)
- Bordetella (REQUIRED- 6 month recommended)
- Canine Influenza (STRONGLY RECOMMENDED)
Please note that this is a facility where like species come in close contact, even if choosing to not place them in play groups. These animals sniff, drool, bark, and potty all in the same areas. Much like children in daycare, even fully vaccinated dogs are susceptible to germs when sharing space and co-existing. Please consider this before boarding or socializing your pets anywhere.
Boarding rates for Dogs:
$35 per night. Additional pets sharing the same run will be discounted to $25 per night.
Boarding rate for Cats:
- $26.00 per night
Day Boarding during our regular hours is available for $15 per day.
We offer a 10% first responders and military discount on full price boarding.
Southern Star Pet is closed on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. The list of holiday closures may grow as we feel necessary.
Pets are still cared for on these days, but we do not have pick up or drop off times.
Invoices for holiday boarding will reflect one $10 “Holiday Fee”, regardless of the number of pets boarding.
